Midweek Rain; DRY Halloween

Our first low-pressure system is slowly working on clearing the area today, but patches of drizzle and stubborn cloud cover continue to hang around. Temperatures are on the struggle bus this afternoon, only managing to reach the upper 50s.

Drier conditions on Tuesday 🌤️

Tomorrow looks a little better! We should see at least a temporary break from the rainfall during the daytime hours as we find ourselves between two low-pressure systems. Some patchy fog can’t be ruled out early in the morning, but it shouldn’t last long. Cloudy skies can be expected, with maybe a few breaks of sunshine here or there.

By late Tuesday night, rain chances will begin to increase again as our second low-pressure system of the week approaches from the west. Highs will be slightly warmer than today, generally in the low to mid-60s.

Widespread rain returns Wednesday 🌧️

Heading into the overnight hours Tuesday into Wednesday, expect shower coverage to ramp up as the next low-pressure system (and its trailing cold front) move closer. Our in-house weather model shows widespread rainfall developing by 1:00 AM Wednesday, continuing through much of the day. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but no severe weather is expected. It’ll be too cool, with temperatures in the low to mid 50s.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are likely through early Thursday, which will bring another nice soaking for much of the region. Winds may get a bit breezy on Wednesday, with gusts of 10–20 MPH possible… Nothing damaging, but definitely an extra-hold hairspray kind of day.

Quiet weather for the last half of the week with some November Chill🎃

Once this low-pressure system finally exits on Thursday, we’ll dry out and clear up just in time for a stretch of calmer weather to finish the week. Friday and Saturday are shaping up to be absolutely beautiful. Perfect timing for Halloween festivities! Temperatures will stay on the cool side, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, but at least we won’t be dealing with any rain. Skies look mostly sunny both days, which will make for a pleasant (if slightly crisp) end to the week.

As we head into Thursday and Friday nights, frost potential will be on the rise, especially if we can get good clearing and light winds. I’ll keep a close eye on that over the next couple of days, as some areas could dip near the freezing mark by early Friday morning. Below, you can see our in-house weather model showing those cooler temperatures settling in by Halloween morning. A few spots are even hinting at freezing readings, but it’s still a little early to expect widespread freezing temperatures just yet. Either way, the end of the week will feel every bit like late October and early November across southern Middle Tennessee!

The Bottom Line 🧾

Scattered showers will linger through the rest of today, but Tuesday looks relatively dry before our next system moves in.

Widespread showers and a few rumbles of thunder return early Wednesday morning, lasting through much of the day.

• We’ll dry out and clear up on Thursday, leading into a stretch of calmer weather.

• Expect 1–2 inches of beneficial rainfall across the area through Thursday morning.

• A beautiful Halloween is ahead, with sunshine, highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and chilly overnight lows perfect for trick-or-treating. 🎃
