Elijah Kirby
Founder / Chief Meteorologist
Elijah Kirby is the founder and chief meteorologist of Southern Tennessee Weather, a trusted source for hyper-local weather coverage across Southern Middle Tennessee.
Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and raised in Bedford County, Elijah’s deep local roots drive his mission to serve the communities he calls home. What began as childhood storm anxiety grew into a passion for understanding the weather—ultimately leading him to launch Shelbyville Weather in 2018 while still in high school.
Today, Southern Tennessee Weather delivers forecasts, live severe weather coverage, and real-time updates across multiple platforms, reaching tens of thousands of people each day. Elijah is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and works closely with the National Weather Service Nashville to support public safety during impactful weather events.
His mission is simple: provide clear, honest, and reliable weather information to help keep Southern Tennessee safe and informed.
Christopher King is a supporting meteorologist with Southern Tennessee Weather and the founder of Christopher King WX, a trusted source for community-focused weather coverage across Tullahoma, Franklin, and Moore counties.
Born and raised in Lynchburg, Tennessee, Christopher’s passion for weather began at a young age, inspired by The Weather Channel and a deep curiosity about severe storms. That curiosity grew into a mission to not just forecast the weather—but explain the why behind it in a clear, relatable way.
With nearly two decades in education, Christopher brings a unique teaching approach to weather communication. He also trained as a storm spotter through the National Weather Service and Skywarn, giving him valuable real-world experience during severe weather events. He is also finishing up his weather forecasting certificate from Penn State.
Now part of Southern Tennessee Weather, Christopher helps expand coverage across the region while continuing his commitment to clear, honest, and no-hype weather you can trust.
